Home Health Aide Resume Examples
A home health aide resume should show that you can be trusted alone in a client's home. Lead with your HHA certification or training, then show the care you give, such as bathing, transfers, vital signs and medication reminders, along with how many clients you visit, the conditions you know, and how you document visits and report changes. Most agencies need a driver, so mention your license and transportation.

Home Health Aide resume questions
How do I write a home health aide resume with no experience?
Lead with your HHA training and competency evaluation, then any caregiving you have done, including for family, and volunteer work with older adults. Agencies want reliability and kindness, so add jobs that show both, such as food service or retail with a good attendance record. Include CPR, a driver's license and the languages you speak.
How much training does a home health aide need?
For agencies certified by Medicare, federal rules (42 CFR 484.80) require at least 75 hours of training, including at least 16 hours of supervised practical training, and a competency evaluation. Some states require more. List your training hours and certification on your resume.
What is the difference between a home health aide and a caregiver?
A home health aide usually works for a home health agency under a nurse's care plan and has formal training and a competency evaluation. A caregiver or personal care aide may work privately or for a non-medical home care agency, helping with daily living, companionship and household tasks. Some postings use the titles loosely, so match the wording in the ad.
