Caregiver Resume Examples

A caregiver resume should show what you do in a client's day, such as personal care, meals, medication reminders, mobility, companionship and housekeeping, and the kind of client you are good with, such as dementia, Parkinson's or recovery after surgery. Lead with CPR and First Aid and any caregiver training, name the schedules you have worked, from hourly to live-in, and give one example of care that made a difference.

Caregiver resume questions

How do I write a caregiver resume with no experience?

Count the caregiving you have already done: helping a parent or grandparent, babysitting, volunteering at a senior center or place of worship. Describe it like a job, with tasks and hours. Add CPR and First Aid, which you can earn in a day, and any job that shows reliability and patience, such as retail or food service.

Should a caregiver resume include references?

You do not need to list them on the resume, but have two or three ready, ideally families or supervisors who saw your care. Private families often call references before an interview, so tell your references to expect a call.

What skills should a caregiver resume list?

Personal care, safe transfers, dementia communication, meal preparation, medication reminders, fall prevention and companionship, plus CPR and First Aid. Add a driver's license and languages if you have them. Keep the list to skills you have actually used, and show the most important ones in your bullet points.
