Resume Now is free to build with, and you can download your resume as a plain .txt file without paying. PDF and Word downloads need a paid plan: a 14-day access pass ($2.45 when we checked on October 7, 2026) that auto-renews at $23.95 every four weeks, or $70.20 a year. Cancel during the 14 days if you only need one file.
Prices are from Resume Now's pricing page and the free-use and cancellation rules from its terms of use, checked as a US visitor on October 6 and 7, 2026.
What's free on Resume Now
Section 10.1 of the terms says Resume Now offers tools that are "free to use and access such as building your resume and downloading a .txt version," and that free templates may also be available. So on a free account you can:
- Build and edit a resume in the AI resume builder
- Preview it on screen
- Download it as plain text (.txt)
A .txt file keeps your words and loses the design. It's fine for pasting into an online form, not for attaching to an application.
Resume Now pricing in 2026
| Plan | Price on October 7, 2026 | Then | Renews? |
|---|---|---|---|
| 14-Day Full Access | $2.45 | $23.95 every 4 weeks | Yes |
| Annual Access | $70.20 a year ($5.85 a month) | $70.20 each year | Yes |
Prices can vary by session or promotion, so check the line under the checkout button. We saw that happen: on October 6 the same page offered a $1.45 "Limited Access" and a $1.85 "Full Access" 14-day pass, both renewing at $23.85 every four weeks. On October 7 three separate loads showed only the $2.45 pass renewing at $23.95. The annual price was $70.20 both days. Paid plans add PDF and Word (DOC) downloads, the cover letter generator, an ATS resume checker, and AI summary and skills generators.
Four weeks isn't a month. $23.95 every 28 days is 13 charges a year, about $25.95 a month. Over 12 weeks the $2.45 pass costs $74.30 in total (the pass plus three renewals); over 24 weeks, $146.15. The annual plan is cheaper per month but is a $70.20 charge up front that renews.
Resume Now's terms also mention one-time purchases: an option to download, print or email a document for a single fee, with a new purchase needed if you edit it afterwards. If you see that option at checkout, it can beat a subscription for a single file.
How to cancel Resume Now
Section 10.6 of the terms gives two ways:
- Online: sign in and use the cancel page under My Account and My Settings.
- Customer service: call 844-351-7484 (US and Canada, per its contact page) or use its live chat.
Resume Now emails a cancellation number to confirm. If it doesn't arrive, contact customer service again, because you aren't canceled until you have it.
Can you get a refund from Resume Now?
Only reliably during the trial. The terms say Resume Now "may issue a refund if notice of cancellation of your subscription is provided before the end of the trial period" and "does not guarantee refunds after trials are expired." The pricing page advertises a money-back guarantee within the 14-day period. Cancel and ask for the refund in the same call or chat, before day 14.
