Yes, partly. Novoresume's Basic plan is free with no time limit and lets you make one version of a one-page resume, but no cover letter, and its pricing page lists "No Watermark/Branding" as a Premium feature. Premium costs $23.99 for a month, $49.99 for three months or $199.99 for a year, each paid once with no automatic renewal.

What Novoresume's free plan includes

Here is how the free Basic plan compares with Premium, in Novoresume's own words from its pricing page.

The catch is in the FAQ: "Most of the Premium features... can be tested in the Basic account. The only difference is that downloading a document with Premium features is not possible in the Basic account." So you can try a second page, a custom layout or a premium font while you build, but the download only works once your resume uses Basic features alone.

Novoresume also says all documents are saved as PDFs. There's no Word (.docx) download on any plan.

Novoresume pricing in 2026

Novoresume is one of the few resume builders that doesn't auto-renew. Its FAQ answers "Will my Premium account renew automatically?" with: "No, our pricing model is not subscription based. Therefore, you will not be charged automatically without your consent." When your Premium period ends, your documents stay in your account.

How to get a free PDF from Novoresume

1. Stay on one page. The Basic plan caps your resume at one page.
2. Use a predefined layout and one of the 3 Basic fonts and 30 color themes.
3. Leave out Premium sections such as custom layouts and creative backgrounds. Anything marked as Premium blocks the download.
4. Download the PDF. Expect Novoresume branding on it, since removing branding is a Premium feature.

If you need a cover letter, a second version for another job, or a file without another company's name on it, the free plan won't cover it.

Refunds and canceling

There's no subscription to cancel, because Premium is a one-time payment. If you want your money back, the pricing page says "You can ask for refund the first 14 days," and Novoresume's terms say consumers can cancel a purchase and claim a refund within 14 days by emailing contact@novoresume.com with a short cancellation notice. Ask early in those 14 days and keep the email.

It also offers its own ATS resume checker. Two things are worth checking yourself, because they depend on the template you pick:

• Columns. Two-column layouts can come out of a parser in the wrong order. Copy all the text from your PDF into a plain-text editor: if your jobs, dates and bullets read top to bottom in order, you're fine.
• Rating bars and icons. Novoresume offers visual rating styles such as circles and bars for skills. A parser reads text, not shapes, so write the level in words too ("Spanish: fluent").

Is Novoresume good for students?

It's one of the better free options for a short resume. The free Basic plan is labeled "Ideal for students" on the pricing page, its one-page limit suits a first resume, and Novoresume has student templates with sections for education, internships and projects.
