How to Cancel MyPerfectResume and Ask for a Refund (2026)

You paid $2.95 to download one resume. Two weeks later, $23.95 from MYPERFECTRESUME.COM landed on your card, maybe more than once. You're not imagining it, and it can be stopped.

To cancel MyPerfectResume, sign in, open My Settings and use the cancel option, or call 855-213-0348 (US and Canada). MyPerfectResume's terms say it emails a cancellation number for every cancellation, so it isn't confirmed until that email arrives. Its pricing page promises a refund if you ask within 14 days of subscribing; after that, refunds are not guaranteed.

Why MyPerfectResume charged you: the 2026 prices

The surprise is usually the renewal. Here is what MyPerfectResume's pricing page shows US visitors in 2026:

PlanWhat you pay firstWhat happens next
14-Day Premium Access$2.95Auto-renews after 14 days at $23.95, billed every 4 weeks
1-Year Premium Access$95.40 up frontRenews automatically each year
Basic AccessFreeBuilder and .txt downloads; PDF and Word need premium

Canadian visitors see $2.95 CAD, then $34.95 CAD every four weeks.

Billing every four weeks is not monthly billing. It means 13 charges of $23.95 a year, $311.35 in total, or about $26 a month. Your renewal date also creeps earlier on the calendar.

The MyPerfectResume billing calendar

Start the $2.95 plan on October 1 and the charges land like this:

DateChargeWhat it means
October 1$2.95Access starts; the 14-day money-back window opens
October 15$23.95First renewal; cancel before this
November 12$23.95Second renewal
December 10$23.95Third renewal

The 14-day access and the 14-day refund window end on the same day. Cancel before day 14 and you stop the renewal while you can still ask for your $2.95 back.

Don't recognize a charge? MyPerfectResume's contact page says it appears as MYPERFECTRESUME.COM, MYPERFECTRESUME or BLD*MYPERFECTRESUME.

Before you cancel: a 5-point checklist

Our checklist, based on what MyPerfectResume's terms of use (updated April 30, 2026) say happens after cancelling:

  1. Download your resume as PDF and Word now. The terms say that without a subscription you can view and edit documents but not print, download or share them. The free .txt download is the exception.
  2. Copy your text into a plain document. Your words are all another builder needs.
  3. Note the date you subscribed. The refund window counts from it.
  4. Check your privacy settings. Per the terms, completed resumes join a resume database shared with a network that includes Monster.com and CareerBuilder.com, and cancelling does not unpublish your online profile (Bold.pro). Set both to private if you want them hidden.
  5. Keep proof. Screenshot the final screen and save the confirmation email.

How to cancel MyPerfectResume online

The terms describe "the online cancel page under your settings page." Step by step:

  1. Click Login at the top right of myperfectresume.com and sign in with the email you paid with.
  2. Open My Account, then My Settings (myperfectresume.com/mysettings).
  3. Find your subscription and cancel it. The terms say you can "cancel or sometimes suspend" a subscription, so make sure you finish a cancellation, not a pause.
  4. Wait for the email with your cancellation number. Check spam if it's slow, as the contact page suggests.
  5. No email? The terms say to contact customer service directly. Until you have that number, assume you're still subscribed.

A script for any channel: "Please cancel my subscription today, email me the cancellation number, and refund my latest charge. I subscribed on [date]."

How to get a MyPerfectResume refund

Two written promises line up:

  • The pricing page: "Request a refund within 14 days of subscribing to premium access to qualify."
  • The terms: you "may request a refund if notice of cancellation of your subscription is provided before the end of the initial period." They also say "Provider does not guarantee refunds."

The realistic path:

  1. Ask. Cancel and request the refund in the same call or message. Inside 14 days, quote the money-back guarantee.
  2. Escalate in writing. Charged after a confirmed cancellation? Email the cancellation number and charge date to support@bold.com.
  3. Dispute with your card issuer as a last resort. The FTC's guide to disputing credit card charges says your letter must reach the issuer within 60 days after the first bill with the error was sent, and the issuer must resolve it within 90 days. The CFPB says to call the card company right away, then send written notice.

A dispute is strongest when you were charged after a confirmed cancellation; a renewal you agreed to and forgot is a weaker case. This is general information, not legal advice.

Also: a new card number may not stop the charges. The terms say some card issuers pass updated card details to MyPerfectResume automatically. Cancel the subscription itself.

What happens to your account after you cancel

After you cancelWhat the terms say
Future chargesStop; you owe fees until you cancel
Saved resumes and lettersStay in your account to view and edit
PDF and Word downloadsNeed an active subscription
.txt downloadFree on Basic
Online profile (Bold.pro)Stays published until you unpublish it or delete the account
Resume database listingNot addressed by cancelling; set it to private
Your dataDeleted only if you request account deletion

To delete everything, the terms point to a personal-data request inside your account or to customer service, and note that an archival copy is kept for recordkeeping.

Zety is the same company

Both MyPerfectResume's terms and Zety's terms are contracts with BOLD LLC, and both say the site "is owned by Bold Limited." If billing is why you're leaving, a sister brand may not be the fix: see our guides on cancelling Zety and whether Zety is free, or what Resume Genius really costs.

If you want a builder with simpler billing

MyPerfectResume's guided builder and pre-written suggestions are genuinely useful, and its pricing page does state the renewal. The trouble is how easy it is to miss.

ResumeFast is our own builder, so here are the plain facts: building is free with no card, and Pro is $6.95 a month, charged at checkout with no trial to convert. Pro adds PDF and Word downloads (the free plan exports .txt). You cancel from the billing page and get a full refund if you ask within 7 days of a charge. Details are on our pricing page.
