Business & Finance Resume Examples

A business resume should show the money and the decisions: budgets you managed, savings or revenue you found, and the analysis or process that got you there. Name the tools, such as Excel, SQL, Power BI or an ERP, and put credentials like a CPA, CFA or MBA where a recruiter sees them. Entry-level candidates lead with internships and analysis projects; senior candidates lead with scope and results.

Business & Finance resume questions

How do I write a business resume with no experience?

Lead with your degree, then internships, case competitions, student organization roles and class projects that involved real analysis: a budget you built, a market you sized, a process you mapped. Give each one a number. Put Excel, PowerPoint and any SQL or BI tool in your skills, and keep it to one page.

Should I include my MBA on a separate line?

Yes, if it's from a top program. Otherwise, include it in your Education section. Highlight relevant coursework or capstone projects if applicable.

How do I show impact when my work is confidential?

Use percentages and relative terms. 'Increased revenue by 25%' doesn't reveal absolute numbers. Or say 'Led M&A due diligence for $XXM transaction range'.

Do I need to list every certification?

List certifications relevant to your target role. CFA, CPA, and Series licenses should always be included. Skip outdated or irrelevant ones.
