Teacher Resume Examples

A teacher resume should show certification and fit before anything else: your license and state, endorsements, grade levels and subjects. Then show students learning, such as proficiency or growth gains, intervention results and classroom management data, plus the coaching, clubs and committees that show you invest in the school. New teachers lead with student teaching; experienced teachers lead with outcomes.

Teacher resume questions

How do I write a teacher resume with no experience?

Treat student teaching as your main job: grade, subject, number of students, the units you planned and what students achieved. Add substitute teaching, tutoring, coaching or camp work, and put your certification or expected certification date at the top. A summary naming the grades and subjects you want helps a principal place you.

What should be at the top of a teacher resume?

A short summary naming the grades and subjects you teach, followed by your certification and state. Principals decide fit in seconds, so surface license, endorsements, and grade band before your experience section.

How do I quantify teaching on a resume?

Use student outcomes and scope. Proficiency or growth gains, pass rates, attendance, referral reductions, and number of students taught all work. 'Raised reading proficiency from 68% to 84%' shows impact that a duties list cannot.

Should new teachers include student teaching?

Yes. For new grads, treat student teaching like a job with specific achievements: grades taught, strategies used, and outcomes observed. Experienced teachers can shorten or drop it once they have full-time classroom results to show.
